Below is a sample recipe from our cookbook. Enjoy!

  • Brown Rice Pilaf

    Serves: 4

    2 cups long grain brown rice
    4 cups water
    1/2 teaspooon turmeric

    Simmer rice for 35 minutes.

    1/8 cup canola oil
    1/2 medium onion (diced)
    1 medium carrot (diced)
    1/2 medium red pepper (diced)
    1/2 medium green pepper (diced)
    1 medium garlic clove (minced)

    1 cup peas
    1 teaspoon salt
    4 sprigs parsley (chopped)

    Saute the diced veggies, garlic and salt for 5 minutes. Add the parsley, the peas and the cooked rice and serve.

    Or steam the veggies if you wish, try to mix gently so as not to mush up the rice.
